Leaking pipe

What will you feel when you turn on the tap in the early morning, only to find out that there is water disruption at your house? I am used to experience this kind of problem for the past two years as my house is not installed with water tank, which is supposed to be a must-have to all houses. But I was left with no money after my house was fully completed in early 2007. So, I decided not to have one until my savings account grew, which it never did! Furthermore, I resorted to not having an internal roof-top water tank for fear that the water tank will collapse and fall apart on me while sleeping at night!

But I was wrong. The new housing area where I live is actually a water-disruption prone area. It is a norm to have water disruption at least twice a week. So often it is until I have to store the mobile phone number of the Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd senior technician in Tanah Merah. When this problem occurs, I give him a call straight away. If I notice a leaking pipe in my area, he is the one who I will turn to.

Come this school holiday, I will build an outdoor water tank stand which is able to store water in emergency. At least I can depend on the water for 24 hours before it dries up.

The flood season has begun!

The heavy rain has started since last Wednesday and it finally causes flood to low-lying areas in Kelantan. I am now enjoying my flood fiesta in my village. I can still vividly remember my childhood when my late friend, Nazuri and I looked forward to making a raft from banana trunks and paddling it in the overflow paddy fields around our small kampong. How I miss the good old days, 25 years ago!

My new F1 shirt

I have been using this orange F1 shirt since 2007 and it was presented to me and other colleagues by then Member of Parliament, YB Ir. Dato’ Shaari Hassan. As it has faded in colour, I felt that it’s the time for me to buy a new one. It’s a practice in my school where all teachers should wear F1 shirts on Wednesday as it’s declared as the co-curricular day. As usual, on Thursday, all teachers wear batik shirts.

Last week, I went to Docnan Store to order a new F1 shirt. This time around, I chose a Dunhill red colour which would make me more outstanding than other teachers... the price is just RM88 including the embroidery. OK, then I can wear these two shirts alternately on Wednesdays.

Farewell Party 2009

My students in Form 5 Xenon decided to throw a farewell party to all teachers and staff before they sit for their SPM from 18 November. After a long discussion, they chose the volleyball court as the venue for the event as the school administration prohibited any class party to be held in the building as it might attract rats and cats. I gave a donation of RM50 to the party organiser, Syahirani, for her to buy all the necessities for the big event. Everything was done as planned and we felt that all staff and teachers did enjoy their meals as nobody complained of our unique dish, ‘Thai Rice.’ Before the party was over, the class monitor gave me a decent gift and it turned out to be a lamp clock.
